Street Service CLT (Feb 2023)

On February 25, 2023, members of our church at Caldwell Presbyterian Church brought breakfast food items to North Tryon Street in Charlotte, North Carolina, near Roof Above. Roof Above is a local nonprofit seeking to address and end homelessness in our community. This 8 minute video by Wes and Shelly Fryer summarizes a few of our experiences and “lessons learned” from this ministry outreach experience.

This was the first in a new monthly series of outreach activities and experiences, designed to bring members of our church in closer “proximity” with those experiencing homelessness and poverty in our neighborhoods. Saturday we had good opportunities to meet and serve people, and learn more about some of the difficult challenges faced by people who currently do not have homes. Learn more about Easter’s House, our church’s initiative to convert our old education building into a complex of efficiency apartments for 21 single adults.
